About this house rental
Bring your crew to a 3-bedroom, 3-bath forest home above Gualala that sleeps 8 on the Mendocino coast. Rally in the dedicated game room around a convertible pool/ping-pong table, unwind in the freestanding soaking tub, and grill on two levels of deck under string lights. A detached ADU suite adds a private bedroom, sitting room, bath, and separate entrance — ideal for multigenerational trips. WiFi, washer/dryer, EV charger, and free parking; beaches and downtown Gualala are minutes down the hill.
The Space:
Bring the whole family — or the whole friend group — to a 2,347 sq ft forest home above Gualala where three bedrooms sleep 8, a dedicated game room handles rainy-day tournaments, and a detached ADU suite gives grandparents or teens their own bedroom, sitting room, bath, and private entrance without leaving the property.
THE HOME
Multi-level craftsman-style home set high in the redwoods and firs on the Mendocino coast. Vaulted wood-plank ceilings, walls of windows into the forest, and a layout built for groups who want movie nights, game-table rematches, and quiet reading corners at the same time.
LIVING AREAS
The upstairs living room runs along picture windows with built-in bookshelves, deep seating, red papasan chairs, and a wall-mounted TV. A window AC unit keeps this room comfortable on warm afternoons. A decorative brick fireplace (warmed by an electric heater) anchors the corner, and a slider opens to the deck.
KITCHEN & DINING
Fully equipped for real cooking: oven, stove, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, and full cookware in a skylit kitchen with sage-green cabinetry, glass-block backsplash, and an angled island with seating for three. The dining table seats up to eight beneath its own wall of glass.
GAME ROOM
A convertible table switches between pool and ping-pong, joined by a dartboard, chalkboard wall, second TV, bean-bag seating, and a live-edge window bar — the room the kids (and competitive adults) claim first.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Sleeps 8 across three bedrooms:
- Master Bedroom: King bed plus a sofa bed, private deck access, forest views, and an ensuite spa bath with a freestanding soaking tub, double vanity, and walk-in closet
- Bedroom 2: Queen bed and a Double bed — easy fit for families or friends sharing
- Bedroom 3 (detached ADU suite): Queen bed, dedicated sitting room with a sleeper sofa, ensuite bath, and private separate entrance (Door B) off the garage side — ideal for multigenerational splits
BATHS
Three full bathrooms across the home and ADU, including the primary spa bath with soaking tub, a double-vanity bath with walk-in shower, and additional shower/tub and vanity space — no morning bottlenecks with a full house.
OUTDOOR LIVING
Two levels of deck wrap the home in the forest. Grill on the upper deck under bistro string lights, or take shade on the covered lower deck among the ferns. A gravel path winds through the trees past a small lawn.

The Neighborhood:
Moonrise Forest sits in the forested hills above Gualala on the Mendocino coast, just north of The Sea Ranch — redwoods out every window, with the ocean minutes away by car. Stock up at Surf Market, grab coffee at Trinks Cafe, and explore Gualala Point Regional Park at the river mouth for bluff trails and beach walks. Sea Ranch trails, Anchor Bay beaches, and the Point Arena Lighthouse are all within an easy coastal drive — enough day-trip variety for a full week with kids or grandparents in tow.
Getting Around:

A car is essential for groceries, beaches, and trailheads. Free parking on premises plus a guest EV charger. Cell service is limited along this part of the coast; download offline maps before you drive up.
