About this cottage rental
The bedrooms have a king sized bed in each with cotton bed linen and feather pillows. Bedroom one overlooks the garden and features high ceilings. Bedroom 2 has a street view which has always been great to watch any village festivals from as well as the fields beyond.
Roomy shower in the little stone wall bathroom also looks onto the garden below while the WC downstairs features a porthole as window !
The dining area opens out with French doors to patio outside with easy access to potted herbs. Open plan kitchen was designed so that whoever had to be at the sink could also look out on the garden! Oven , fridge, dishwasher and toaster all available as well as pantry space at the back with washing machine.
The sitting room which you step into from the street is decorated in warm mustards with rust red couch and old leather armchair. Full library of books collected by the owner is available to borrow
(but not to take, please!!)
Enveloped by a mature garden, the cottage is very private but sits right in the middle of a traditional Irish village that is full of local life. The sports pitches (mainly hurling and camogie) are just a stroll away and the pub is a few doors down. Luckily the village has retained a postoffice and shop which also opens as a cafe on Thursdays and Fridays with delicious breakfasts. Try if you can to completely consume Selina's full Irish breakfast!!
Full of books and art collected by artist owner, the cottage also has a studio space on terrace above. The studio is available for use. It has a table and chair, an easel and a view!
Sublime forest walk a 2 minute walk away and gorgeous Harbour View and Coolmain beaches a 5 minute drive away. Famous harbour town, Kinsale, is a 20 minute drive away in one direction, Clonakilty and Skibbereen 30 minutes approx in the other direction.
