About this house rental

Summary:

Elevated mountain-view cabin with private hot tub, 2 decks, firepit, & grill

The Space:

Perched at 4,300 feet in the mountains of Western North Carolina, Stargazer’s Retreat is a peaceful escape where expansive views, fresh mountain air, and quiet mornings replace the pace of everyday life.

Wake to sunrise stretching across the ridgelines. Spend the day exploring waterfalls, hiking trails, charming mountain towns, and scenic drives. Return home to soak in the private hot tub, gather around the fire pit, grill dinner on the deck, and watch the stars emerge above the mountains.

Designed for couples and families, the cabin offers comfortable spaces both inside and out. Two spacious decks provide panoramic, year-round mountain views. The open living area invites you to slow down with a book, a board game, or puzzle. Star Link high-speed internet makes it easy to stay connected, if you choose to be.

The fully equipped kitchen includes everything needed to prepare meals at home, and the cabin is stocked with thoughtful touches including a telescope, binoculars, star maps, Smart TVs with Roku, a washer and dryer, Pack n Play and highchair.

Conveniently located near Western North Carolina's most memorable destinations, including Lake Glenville, Panthertown Valley, High Falls, Dry Falls, Fire Mountain Trails, Great Smoky Mountains N.P., Cashiers, Highlands, Sylva, and Western Carolina University.

Things to Note:

Up to two dogs are welcome, so every member of the family can enjoy the mountains together. Dogs must be leashed.

Reaching the cabin is part of the mountain experience. The final approach includes a winding gravel one lane road and a switchback driveway. Most guests have no difficulty reaching the cabin, we recommend arriving during daylight on your first visit so you can enjoy the drive and settle in comfortably. Please watch out for deer, bear, and other wildlife. The access road is not suitable for large trucks (dually, 350/3500s, long bed-

extended cabs). All-wheel drive (AWD) / four-wheel drive (4WD) is recommended, but not required, March – October. And required in winter (February – November).

The family loved this place! So peaceful! We spent every morning on the deck with coffee and every evening at the fire pit. Took the telescope out to look at the moon; it was so cool. The kids played in the Yard/driveway/forest at the house. Cool towns and tons of hikes nearby with some really cool waterfalls. The home is cozy, stylish, and full of thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. It was so quiet that we felt like we had the whole forest to ourselves. Can’t wait to go back hopefully in the fall to see the colors!! Two-wheel drive rav4 made it up with little issue.

Loved this place! Clean, great view and the fall colors were AMAZING! I drove a 2wd pilot and I was fine but, I grew up in this kind of area and know the drill. 4wd may be best. We came after Helene and this area was fortunate. The towns are open and people are great. The fam LOVES WNC and this place was perfect to get away!

Please read listing thoroughly when booking. House is far from most things, and town. Our cars did make it, but trucks with 4x4 are best as listing does state. I imagine a truck would be the only way in snow. Fortunately, we did not have snow during our stay. Very quiet and peaceful with beautiful views. There is one issue with cleanliness which is why I gave two stars, but I’m sure that issue can be resolved.

You have to have 4wheel drive or you’re not making it to the cabin. Cabin view is amazing. Lots and lots of bumps and dirt/gravel roads. Internet is spotty at best. But who goes to a mountain cabin for internet. Needs a couple larger skillets. Appliances are older but work. Was very hard on my autistic brother coming up and down.
