Affectionately nicknamed Bear Creek Cabin, this idyllic Blue Ridge Mountain retreat offers the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway on the shores of Hogback Lake.
A private path leads directly from the backyard to the lake, where guests can enjoy the private backyard dock and complimentary use of a canoe and kayaks. Spend sunny days exploring Hogback Lake, enjoying the water, or simply taking in the peaceful mountain surroundings. Back at the cabin, gather on the back porch and take in the wooded views while burgers sizzle on the gas grill. As evening falls, gather around the wood-burning firepit to roast marshmallows beneath the stars. With the lake just steps away and outdoor adventure all around, this cabin is an ideal mountain escape.
Gather in the main floor living room, where a variety of plush seating provides plenty of space to gather, chat, or relax with a good book. Light the wood-burning fireplace with its stone surround and enjoy the crackling warmth. The well-equipped kitchen has all the cookware and gadgets you'll need to prepare hearty mountain meals and gather your group to eat in the dining room. The lower level family room features a TV, large leather sectional couch, and gas fireplace. For some friendly competition find a foosball and Ping-Pong table in the room off the family room.
The primary bedroom offers a peaceful retreat with a comfortable king-size bed, TV, and private ensuite bathroom featuring a spacious double vanity. Enjoy the added convenience of direct access to the back porch, where you can step outside and take in the fresh mountain air.
The second bedroom features a queen-size bed and TV, while the third bedroom offers three twin beds, making it a great option for children, friends, or additional guests. A full hallway bathroom is conveniently shared between these bedrooms.
On the lower level, guests will find an additional twin bed along with a full bathroom, providing extra sleeping space and added flexibility for your group.

-Guests have access to Hogback Lake via a private path from the backyard. A private dock, canoe, and kayaks are available for guests to enjoy the lake. The path to the lake requires navigating stairs and may not be suitable for guests with mobility limitations.
-The home offers the option to purchase Sapphire Valley Resort amenities for $5 per person per day or $25 per person per week. This provides access to two swimming pools, a hot tub, sauna, complete gym, tennis courts, basketball court, pickleball, miniature golf, and paddle boating and swimming at Fairfield Lake. All amenities are a short drive from the home
-All guests shall abide by our good neighbor policy and shall not engage in illegal activity.
-Quiet hours are from 10:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m.
-No smoking is permitted anywhere on the premises.
-All properties comes with a starter kit to assist you on your first day before having to go out and purchase additional items. This includes: dish sponge, dish soap, dishwasher packet, laundry packet. Bathrooms will have 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, shampoo, conditioner and hand soap.

The house was nice and clean. Several updated bathrooms. Nice hike to the pond below. A few quirks with resort passes, but Vascasa straightened everything out. Really enjoyed ourselves.

We wanted to escape some of the heat for the 4th. The actual day of the 4th was busy but fun down by the pool and clubhouse. I wish I could have found the schedule of events more easily ahead of time. The cabin was very nice. Comfortable. The twin beds in one room were a little uncomfortable for an adult but the kids didn’t mind them being a little hard. The kitchen was well equipped lots of room to sit and eat as well. The living room upstairs could have had more comfortable furniture as well as the porch. Overall and was a great stay. Would be happy to go back anytime. The communication to get in and check out was super easy and we were offered an early check in and a late check out if needed. I know we wot always be that lucky but everything was very well communicated.

We had a great few days enjoying this house. Very quiet area but close enough to many local restaurants and easy hikes/waterfalls. The canoes and kid kayaks were a hit for us! There was a little confusion getting the amenity passes at Sapphire Valley Resort but the owners fixed it quickly and we were also able to enjoy that added perk! Overall would recommend this to any family looking for a comfortable mountain getaway!

Loved the fire pit outside the carport, and the private path down to a little dock, quiet and pretty nature view from the porch. Nice big indoor dining table for two families, and that it offered pet friendly amenities. Game room for kids was nice. Central air was nice to have with fans in each room, however loud and in need of updating.
Beds were extremely outdated and uncomfortable with stains and stained linens. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals, but DATED and not the cleanest with knobs falling off cabinets and sticky shelves, fridge functional but leaking.
Would consider another property given the fees for how and cleaning and the state of the cleanliness we found this rental in.
Good if you don’t care about cleanliness.
