The place is yours. There's 2 docks and a ShoreStation for your use. We always encourage people to bring badminton, bocce or a football with as well. Our front yard is perfect for yard games.
Thunder Lake is known for its deep clear water and exceptional fishing year around. Our home is located in a protected bay off the big section and has the best conditions on the lake for glassy slalom skiing at dawn and dusk. Many of the Residents visit our section for water sports. You can watch this all unfold from the dock or get out there and share in the fun.
We are also uniquely positioned less than a mile from ATV and snowmobile trail access from our driveway, providing hundreds of miles of area to explore. This part of MN is a paradise for riders in both summer and winter. Its all at your fingertips, so bring the toys.
There's a Blackstone Griddle and Weber Spirit BBQ on the deck to make sure you can hear the loons while you cook.
Our family cabin was built and homesteaded in 1958 by our grandfather Don, a Swedish carpenter who left the twin cities with his wife Elsie in search of a simpler life. The home has been renovated to keep up with the times over the years, while still maintaining it's cozy charm and humble beginnings. It was designed to live and breath lake life, providing everything you should need for a relaxing getaway. We sure hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
Also, if your staying with us, your staying in the woods. Smokey the Bear, Rocky Racoon and their smaller companions can all be your local neighbors depending on the season. Living amongst nature is a way of life up here and you should expect to experience it during your stay.
Welcome to beautiful Thunder Lake!
