About this cottage rental
Charming, fully equipped 2 1/2 bed/3 bath lodge at the end of a dirt road next to a babbling brook surrounded by 3000 acres of forest. Spend time enjoying the outdoors skiing, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and creek walking. or exploring the Hudson Valley and the Berkshires. This is the perfect place to unplug and recharge!
The Harvey Mountain Lodge is surrounded by forest and very private. The first floor offers a master bedroom and a common area that also acts as a bedroom, a laundry and a full bathroom. It is at ground level so accessible to people in wheel chairs. The second floor is accessible via 2 steps. It offers the master bedroom with a full ensuite bathroom, a second full bathroom and a great room with a field stone fire place with a wood stove, a living room, a large flat screen TV, desk/work space, dining area and fully equipped kitchen. There is an elevated deck off the great room that overlooks a very picturesque, babbling brook. There is also a one car garage with a dumbwaiter that makes hauling groceries upstairs easier!
There are hiking trails on the property which connect with the Harvey Mountain State Forest and the peak of Harvey Mountain which is the highest peak in Columbia County. The brook is perfect for creek walking and leads to a small, magical waterfall.
Guests have access to the whole house and garage.
I always provide my cell phone number in case a guest has a question. I am often nearby and can come if needed.
The house is located at the end of a one mile long dirt road. There are other houses on the road, however, none in sight. The owner lives on the property in a different house.
No public transit other than pre-arranged car service. We recommend bringing a car but we are happy to pick guests up at the train station or airport for a fee.
We have a generator if the power goes out. We provide cleaning and garbage removal once a week for long term guests for $150.
We only rent to guests who have favorable reviews or references. Please take shoes off inside. You may smoke outside but please do not leave butts on the grounds. No recreational motorized all terrain vehicles on the property. Gatherings of more than 8 guests need to be approved and may incur additional charges. Children need to be accompanied by an adult on the deck and deck stairs. Do not leave food or garbage outside as it will attract critters.
