About this house rental

Trails, Tides, and Laid Back Vibes

The moment you step out onto the dock at Tidal Cove Retreat, something in you quietly lets go. Still water stretches toward the horizon, salt and pine fill the air, and a barrel sauna is already warming up just steps from the bay. This is waterfront Maine the way it was meant to be — private beach, a hot tub at the edge of the cove, kayaks waiting at the shore, and nothing on the agenda you can't ignore.

ABOUT THIS SPACE

Tidal Cove Retreat sits directly on the water in Sullivan, Maine — a quiet cove off Frenchman Bay where the tides roll in twice a day and views change by the hour. Originally built in 1900, the home has been updated to blend coastal character with modern comfort.

The main living area is open and comfortable with plenty of seating for the whole group, a smart TV, and natural light from bay-facing windows.

The kitchen is fully equipped for group cooking — electric stove, oven, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker, blender, toaster, baking sheets, wine glasses, and a full set of cookware. A dining table seats everyone.

Bedrooms:
• Bedroom 1 — King bed, room-darkening shades, clothing storage
• Bedroom 2 — Queen bed, natural light, quality linens
• Bedroom 3 — Queen bed, restful and private
• Bedroom 4 — Additional sleeping for larger groups (up to 10 guests total)

Both bathrooms are stocked with essentials: towels, shampoo, body soap, shower gel, and a hair dryer.

Outside is where Tidal Cove Retreat truly opens up. The private backyard leads to the beach and cove — kayaks ready to launch, sun loungers at the water's edge, beach towels and snorkeling gear provided. The private hot tub faces the water. The barrel sauna sits steps from the bay for the cold-plunge-to-sauna reset you've been dreaming about. A charcoal BBQ grill, hammock, fire pit, outdoor furniture, and a private boat slip complete the picture.

LOCATION & WHAT'S NEARBY

Sullivan sits on the Downeast coast of Maine at the start of the Schoodic National Scenic Byway — the gateway to some of the most dramatic coastline in New England.

• Acadia National Park (Schoodic Peninsula) — 25 min. Hike to Schoodic Head, explore rocky tide pools, and bike the path with open ocean views — without the Bar Harbor crowds.
• Bar Harbor — 35 min. Whale watching, kayak tours, world-class lobster, and a full day of shops and restaurants.
• Cadillac Mountain — 40 min. First sunrise in the continental US. Views extend 40 miles across the islands and ocean.
• Ellsworth — 10 min. Closest town for groceries, pharmacies, and local restaurants including Cleonice Mediterranean Bistro.
• Lamoine State Park — 15 min. Beach, boat launch, and calm-water swimming for an easy afternoon with kids.
• Thurston's Lobster Pound, Bernard — 50 min. Whole lobsters on a working wharf — the essential Maine experience.
• Atlantic Brewing Company — 40 min. One of Maine's oldest craft breweries with a working farm and tasting room.
• Tracy's Seafood - 4 min. Local fresh seafood at an unbeatable price. Take it to go and enjoy your buttered lobster roll with a view in your backyard.

WHO THIS HOME IS BEST FOR

• Families with kids who want the water right outside the door. Kayaks, the private beach, sun loungers, and life-size lawn games mean the kids never need to leave — adults get the sauna and hot tub to themselves.

• Groups celebrating something. A milestone birthday, anniversary trip, or bachelorette weekend on the Maine coast — 10 guests, an outdoor fire pit, and a private cove make for moments worth remembering.

• Couples and small groups looking for deep rest. The barrel sauna, private beach, and quiet of Sullivan make this an ideal reset. Nothing is expected of you here.

• Adventurers using the home as a base camp. Acadia is 25 minutes away, the Schoodic byway starts at your door, and paddling the cove at sunrise is one of the best ways to start a morning in Maine.

PARKING

Free parking on the property for multiple vehicles — no permit needed. The driveway fits standard vehicles and trucks.
