The Space:

This lovely accommodation has been specifically designed to limit the impact on the stunning Mount Iron environment. The footprint is deliberately small, and every effort has been made to be thoughtful about the environment and the planet. It is extremely well insulated for your comfort.



The building is split-level with internal stairs to allow privacy for the bedrooms away from the living area and to respect the contours of the land. Although it is a small build, the spaces are cleverly designed with storage hidden away, for example, under each bed.



The master bathroom has a bath cleverly positioned to enjoy the view by day and the stars by night, through the skylight, and all bedrooms have stunning views of the lake and mountains, with the beds positioned to maximise this.



Guest Access:

As the access road is shared with permanent residents and families, please drive slowly and thoughtfully. Driving in this alpine environment requires thought and attention, especially when it is frosty.



There is ample parking on the driveway, including a flat area conveniently close to the front door (we kindly ask that guests do not park on the shared drive). Enter through the front door and make yourself at home. This house has fantastic indoor-outdoor flow, with a living area door opening directly onto the sunny viewing deck. Guests will also have full access to the dedicated outdoor shed—fully insulated with a low heating system to prevent freezing, it is perfect for storing and drying skis and boards, and comes complete with boot warmers to dry and warm your ski boots. The shed also houses the washing machine and dryer, along with hooks to hang wet clothing to dry for your convenience.



The Neighborhood:

This beautiful home tucked away high on the slopes of Mount Iron along Aubrey Road, this home offers a unique experience. While you are situated in a quiet, well-established neighborhood, the incredible elevation and surrounding native kanuka make it feel like you are hidden away deep in the mountains. It is the perfect balance of peaceful sanctuary and proximity to local attractions, putting you just minutes away from walking trails, lake Wanaka, and local café and restaurants.



Getting Around:

This lovely property is located on the hillside, the access to the property is steep sealed road. Please keep the speed down and drive carefully. Normally, the road is dry and property is easily accessible. In the winter, if it snows, be aware that the road may become icy in the morning.
