About this cottage rental
The two bedroom 18th-century barn has retained many of its original features including exposed oak beams and original stone walls. The owners of this property aim to reduce their carbon footprint by using an original gritstone roof and British sheep's wool insulation, as well as heating provided by biomass and a private water supply. All heating and hot water is provided from a wood pellet stove in the lounge. An oak staircase leads to the first floor which has under floor heating and elegant Welsh slate flooring. The two bedrooms are reached via the entrance hall, both have impressive vaulted ceilings, exposed beams and en-suite shower rooms. The spacious main bedroom has a king-size bed, and the second room has two singles. An open-plan kitchen has beautiful exposed beams and stone walls.
The spacious lounge/dining area leads out onto a kitchen garden and private sun terrace with a variety of organic herbs, fruits and vegetables which are available in season for you to pick, for an additional fee local food hampers can be arranged. The garden offers wonderful views of the surrounding countryside including the grounds of the property which are home to the owner's chickens and bees.
