Tucked away in the heart of Holmfirth, this property is adjacent to the river and just a short stroll from the many quirky shops, bars and restaurants of the village. Made famous by The Last of The Summer Wine TV series, the popular show's exhibition is on the same lane as this quaint cottage. Watch a show at the Picturedrome or book a wine tasting tour at Holmfirth's own vineyard. Surrounded by stunning scenery, the area is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, with both the Peak District National Park and Pennine Way on the doorstep, so walkers and cyclists will be spoilt for choice. Cawthorne Antique Centre, The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Chatsworth House, Wentworth Castle and the Hepworth Gallery are all just a short drive away and all worth a visit.
Kick off your walking boots as you enter this lovely cottage and get ready to fully relax within the cosy lounge/diner, elevated by exposed stone walls and traditional flagstone floor. An original fireplace adorned with electric wood burner-effect fire is an attractive focal point, where you can unwind on the comfortable sofas and watch a movie on the Smart TV. A quaint dining table resting at the side of the room is the ideal place to settle down for dinner and make a toast to a wonderful holiday. A quirky low and narrow doorway leads through to a compact kitchen full of character, equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. Upstairs, you will find a bright and spacious king-size bedroom that is sure to provide an excellent night’s sleep. To complete this delightful dwelling is an en-suite bathroom with shower over the bath and WC.
To the front of the cottage is a small patio area with a bistro table where you can relax with a drink at the end of a summer evening and listen to the sound of the river bubbling by.
