Perched just off the Devonshire coastline, this homely escape commands a picture-postcard position overlooking the river Torridge. The home offers guests all the benefits of a countryside retreat with all the peace and tranquillity you could wish for, whilst being within easy reach to some of North Devon’s most popular coastal hotspots. It's a haven for walking enthusiasts, with fantastic trails right at your doorstep and the Southwest Coast path nearby, where you can relish the various scenic routes. Explore charming fishing villages like Appledore (8 miles) and Clovelly (17 miles), brimming with delightful local shops and diverse eateries. If you crave a livelier ambiance, the renowned Westward Ho!, a mere 8 miles away, beckons with its 1.5-mile sandy beach, amusements, and an abundance of local culinary delights to savour. Other popular attractions such as the Tarka Trail, Milky Way Adventure and Wake Park, The Big Sheep and RHS Rosemoor Gardens all lie within 15 miles. This retreat benefits from blending two stunning homes, being a farmhouse and converted barn into one superb stay, allowing larger party sizes exclusivity on this beautiful riverside position in North Devon.
Upon entry into either section, guests will soon notice the combination of both original and contemporary features throughout, including those charming, exposed beams overhead in each and every room. Guests have set lounge, dining and kitchen spaces suitable for everyone to enjoy as one. The main living space is found in the barn which features an upside-down arrangement, thus, allowing guests to really benefit from those riverside views from an elevated position. The room features two comfortable corner sofas, in addition to armchairs and window side seating, as well as a Smart TV with Sky package to enjoy all your favourite films. Better still, light the log burner and listen in to the warming crackle of logs on those chillier evenings. In addition to this main entertainment space, there is also additional snug areas both on the lower floor of the barn, and in the farmhouse. The perfect spaces for retreating with a board game or to read a book perhaps. The main dining space sits within the farmhouse and provides enough seating for all to wine and dine together over your favourite meals, whilst a smaller number of guests again have the additional option of dining in the barn section, ideal for a morning brew at breakfast time to plan the day’s adventures ahead. To provide ease and convenience, there are two well-appointed kitchens for guests use with all the appliances needed for a stress-free stay, the larger of which being within the farmhouse and therefore providing practicality in combination with the dining arrangements. The bedrooms are split between the upper floor of the farmhouse, and both floors within the barn again providing convenience for those guests who prefer a ground floor bedroom. The three bedrooms in the farmhouse provide a selection of bed arrangements for guests to choose from including a super-king, king-size, twin room and a standard double, whilst the barn features further super-king zip and link, double and twin zip and link rooms. Completing this wonderful escape are the six bath and shower rooms, split evenly across the two properties.
Guests are treated with an abundance of outdoor space to enjoy at this rural retreat. Features to boast include the fabulous games barn, fitted with pool and table tennis tables, whilst there is also the added luxury of your own private hot tub, ideal to soak into after a day of exploring North Devon. There is also a spacious enclosed lawn allowing peace of mind for four pawed friends and young ones to roam freely whilst others sit back and relax on the choice of outdoor seating available. A truly perfect getaway for larger gatherings.
