About this cottage rental
Porthtowan village boasts a unique charm, highlighted by its mermaid pool—a vast, outdoor rock pool unveiled during low tide. Alongside this natural wonder, the village offers convenience with a local shop and a diverse array of dining options. As you venture through the enchanting rock pools and follow the picturesque coastal path, keep a keen eye out for occasional glimpses of dolphins, seals, and basking sharks, all making these waters their home. A brief jaunt to the neighbouring St Agnes village reveals more stunning beaches, secluded coves, and additional dining opportunities. Be sure not to miss the opportunity to witness a breath-taking sunset at the Beacon while savouring a locally sourced takeaway. After thoroughly exploring the immediate area, consider venturing a bit further to uncover some of Cornwall's most renowned attractions, including The Eden Project, Godrevy, and St. Ives, all conveniently located within a 20-mile radius.
On arrival, head up the steep slope to really immerse yourself under the tree canopy of this elevated Cornish delight, hidden from sight. With a "home from home" feel, both the lounge and snug offer wood burning stoves and Smart TV's, so you can relax by the warmth of the fire as you wind down from the excitement of the day. Kick back and watch your favourite films whilst the children do the same in the snug. Don't forget to duck through the doorways of this traditional Cornish home steeped in its historical past! The kitchen is equipped with everything you'll need for your holiday to make a family meal or hearty brunch for those lazy mornings. There's a ground floor shower room and utility, ideal after a walk on the beach. Upstairs, you'll find three spacious bedrooms including a king-size, double and twin, all with views across the woodland surrounding you. There's also a contemporary family bathroom.
Heading outside, you're in a completely private garden amongst nature. Enjoy an evening on the patio under the stars. Al-fresco dine in the quiet woodland setting with the charcoal BBQ or a takeaway meal from one of the restaurants in the village. Listen to the wildlife with your morning espresso from the leisure swing seat. Head up the meandering pathway to the "Loveseat" via the woodland walk and gaze out to sea.
