History lovers can tour grand estates nearby, including Hever Castle, Penshurst Place, and Chiddingstone Castle (all within 12 miles), or wander the magnificent National Trust properties of Ightham Mote (7 miles), Knole (10 miles), and Chartwell (14 miles). For a change of pace, spend the day in the sought-after spa town of Tunbridge Wells (10 miles) and peruse boutique stores, sample fine dining, or admire the Georgian architecture of The Pantiles. Outdoor enthusiasts are also well served, with many bracing walks and cycle rides across the Kent Downs, followed by a hearty pub meal or a relaxed evening in the comfort of this welcoming retreat.
