Head out from the tranquil village of Lamplugh to explore the Ennerdale Valley and Loweswater Fells. Walk around beautiful Loweswater itself, 3 miles away, or hike to Crummock Water, 3.5 miles away, taking in the spectacular mountain views on the route. Go horse-riding or mountain biking in the area. Drive 7 miles to Cockermouth, birthplace of William Wordsworth, to shop for delicious local produce, or spend the afternoon in Keswick, 17 miles away, to browse in its independent outlets and perhaps dine out.
