About this cottage rental
This remarkably spacious property is attached to the owner’s home where a warm welcome awaits yet your privacy is assured and is set just outside the rural hamlet of West Compton, nestling under Eggardon Hill. It is the perfect spot for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers alike. The historic town of Dorchester is just a short drive away and offers a great selection of shops, pubs and attractions for everyone to enjoy. You could explore the county museum, which is well worth a visit, or try out one of the many eateries. This property is the ideal base for those wishing to explore West Dorset and beyond. You will find an abundance of pretty towns and villages easily accessible from here, as well as the stunning Jurassic Coast where you can fossil hunt or simply relax on the beach.
Stepping inside the property via the private entrance, there is a welcoming, spacious entrance hallway with a door to a separate WC. The hallway then leads through to the kitchen/diner which has delightful views over the rear garden. The well-equipped kitchen is a great social space to prepare a family meal with electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. Enjoy your meals in the dining area with seating for four. Just next door to the kitchen/diner is the stylish lounge which has plenty of room to relax in, with a Smart TV and DVD and wood burner effect electric fire, making it the perfect space to unwind and watch your favourite movie after a day of exploring. From here you can enter the bright and airy conservatory, where you can read a good book or simply enjoy the views. From the hallway, take the wide staircase to the first floor where you will find the two bedrooms. The first bedroom is light and airy with beautiful views over the garden and countryside beyond, in this room there is a super-king-size. The second bedroom is a twin with zip-and-link beds which can be made into a king-size (on request at time of booking), which has lovely rural views of the surrounding area. Completing the inside of the property is the bathroom with shower over bath and WC on the first floor.
Heading out of the property from the conservatory, there is an enclosed garden with a patio area, garden furniture and BBQ, perfect for a spot of al fresco dining, or relax in the lay-z-spa hot tub and enjoy the far reaching views. Off-road parking is available for two cars towards the front of the property and bicycles can be stored easily by the front door in the wall mounted bicycle racks.
