A very spacious, light-filled studio of over 70sqm. The River Studio has its own private entrance, high ceilings, wall-to-wall windows and sweeping Tagus views.
The River Studio also boasts a fully equipped kitchen with fridge, freezer, dishwasher, air fryer, hob and oven.
Very fast Wi-Fi - ideal for digital nomads, as well as couples or small families looking for space, comfort and easy access to Lisbon by ferry.
The space

A stylish and unusually spacious riverside studio offering over 70 sqm of light-filled living space, wide Tagus views, spectacular sunrises and a relaxed mix of antique and post-modern design.
With high ceilings, huge wall-to-wall windows, and carefully zoned living areas, The River Studio feels open and calm - ideal for couples, or families with children, who want space to spread out while staying close to Lisbon.
The studio has its own private entrance (via a shared front gate) and is located around 15 minutes’ walk to the ferry to Lisbon, or a 2-minute tram ride, with a tram/bus stop just 5 minutes away.

This large studio is thoughtfully laid out with:
- A sleeping area
- A living area with large flat-screen TV
- A dining area
- A fully equipped kitchen
- A separate, newly refurbished bathroom with walk-in shower
- Fast Wi-Fi throughout makes it well suited to longer stays or remote work. Also a work desk with sweeping river views!
* Kitchen, Laundry & Storage *
The kitchen is fully equipped for proper cooking and longer stays, including:
- Oven and stove
- Full-size dishwasher
- Separate fridge and freezer
- Ninja Airfryer
In addition, the studio benefits from a large adjoining utility/laundry room with extra storage, plus a separate storage area ideal for surfboards, bikes or beach gear - a rare bonus for a studio.
* Sleeping Arrangements * (important to read)
You’ll sleep on a very comfortable handmade double bed made in Holland.
Please note that, as is typical in Portugal, this is a small double bed measuring approximately 140 × 190 cm.
We also have a comfortable sofa bed measuring 111 x 188 that would fit a further two children or one adult.
If you’re travelling with a larger group or would like more space, The River Studio can be booked together with Casa Lisnave, a beautiful three-bedroom house connected via a lockable internal door.
Casa Lisnave sleeps 6 guests comfortably, and together the two spaces accommodate up to 8 guests.

The River Studio has its own private entrance for guest access, once through a front gate shared with Casa Lisnave (the main house above).

Affordable parking is available all around the house.
Approx €3.50/day or €11.50/week (pay at machine or download the EasyPark app.)
Free evenings from 6pm and Sundays
You may stop briefly outside the house to unload. Please park only in front of number 23 and be mindful of parking wardens.

1. Accessibility:
Please note that there is a gentle slope (with handrail and grippy mat) leading to your private entrance.
There are also a few wide stairs leading down into the studio.

Almada, Setúbal, Portugal
Cacilhas is a vibrant and eclectic waterfront neighborhood. It is a former industrial quarter that is still being revitalized and remains staunchly, authentically local. It is a wonderful place to take in the amazing views of Lisbon from across the Tagus or grab a drink or meal at one of the many excellent restaurants that typically cost half that of Lisbon.
Cacilhas is known for seafood, however there are extensive food choices ranging from steak and pizza to Syrian, Indian, Japanese and gelato. There is an Irish pub down the street, a bookstore cafe that plays jazz music, vintage clothing stores, yoga, meditation and wellness studios offering reiki, acupuncture and therapeutic massages as well as great coffee shops.
Rua Cândido dos Reis is pedestrianized and laid with restaurant terraces, while the nearby Cais do Ginjal has fantastic views of the river, the 25 de Abril bridge and Lisbon. Visit the Boca do Vento elevator, which is attached to the cliff on the riverfront, the Jardim do Rio and Almada Velha, which has an amazing art deco movie theater, an atmospheric local bar/cafe/live music venue (Petisco da Lata) and a contemporary art center, Casa da Cerca.
If you are into beaches, surfing, kitesurfing, it's just 15 minutes’ drive to the spacious beaches of Costa da Caparica, and another 5 to Fonte da Telha, with its white sand beach that goes for kilometers and is backed by limestone cliffs and pine trees. From here you can sometimes see dolphins and always spectacular sunsets. The wild and stunning beaches of Portinho da Arrábida and Praia do Meco are just a 30-minute drive away.
Getting around
You are a comfortable walking distance to the ferry to Lisbon, shops, restaurants and bars.
On foot:
• 15 minutes walk (or 5 minute tram ride) to the Cacilhas ferry terminal. From there, it's an 8-minute crossing over the Tagus straight into Lisbon
• 2 minutes to several mini markets
• 5 minutes to the Gil Vicente bus and tram stop
• 10 minutes to the pretty pedestrian stretch of R. Cândido dos Reis
By car:
• 15 minutes to the wide open Atlantic beaches of Caparica
• 15-25 minutes to Lisbon (€10-20 by Bolt or Uber)
• 25-30 minutes to Lisbon International Airport (€15-20 by Bolt or Uber)
Bolt and Uber are both reliable and cheap here - you won't be waiting long or paying over the odds.
