Tucked away in a pretty apple orchard on a 60‑acre working equestrian centre, this charming, boutique shepherd’s hut has a generous wooden surround deck and a private, wood‑fired hot tub within a fully fenced, dog‑friendly orchard garden. Next door to the polo club and 1 mile from a local pub and trout fishery, it offers an idyllic escape with the bonus of horses grazing quietly in nearby paddocks. The picture‑perfect coastal villages of South Queensferry (2 miles) and North Queensferry (5 miles) are close by, with their waterfront eateries, artisan coffee shops, friendly inns, independent boutiques, beaches and access to the Fife Coastal Path. Edinburgh is only 7 miles away, easily reached by train (3 miles) or park‑and‑ride (6 miles), boasting Edinburgh Castle, the National Galleries, Royal Botanic Garden, festivals, rugby at Murrayfield, concerts and Christmas markets. Visit the Kelpies, Falkirk Wheel (15 miles) and Knockhill Racing Circuit (17 miles).

The compact, well‑equipped kitchen has everything you need to rustle up breakfast, simple suppers or a special meal for two. At one side of the hut, the inviting king‑size bed offers plentiful under‑bed and built‑in storage, creating a calm, uncluttered space to retreat to. A stylish shower room with a generous shower and WC completes the interior, bringing a boutique hotel‑style feel to this compact home.
Outside, the hut opens onto a spacious, fully enclosed private deck and garden, wrapped around the front, with an outdoor dining area, romantic seating tucked beneath the apple trees, and a Weber charcoal BBQ for leisurely al fresco meals. The wood‑fired hot tub is set to one side of the deck, perfect for soaking under the stars with the scent of the orchard all around. With secure fencing all around and no overlooking properties, it’s ideal for guests who want to relax with dogs off the lead. Just through a little gate, a romantic wood‑fired sauna waits in its own tucked‑away corner, offering a spa‑like experience after a day walking, cycling, riding or exploring. The yard has a secure dog field and dog walking service, which you can arrange to use during your visit. Guests are welcome to wander over to watch the horses grazing in their fields or being schooled in the arenas, and, on some weekends, you may be lucky enough to see a small dressage or show jumping competition taking place during your stay. There is ample off-road parking.
