A charming coastal cottage in Dorset, this inviting seaside retreat is ideal for couples and small families. Sleeping up to four guests, the two-storey property enjoys a wonderful position overlooking the beach and bay, just 2 miles from Weymouth and approximately half a mile from Bowleaze Cove. Guests can stroll along Weymouth Bay into the lively town centre (2 miles), where a wide range of shops, restaurants and traditional seaside attractions await. Nearby highlights include the Sealife Centre and the peaceful RSPB Lodmoor Nature Reserve (0.5 miles). For days out, enjoy a picnic at the beautiful National Trust-owned Ringstead Bay (5 miles), or explore the stunning Isle of Purbeck, including Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door (12.5 miles) and the historic ruins of Corfe Castle (20 miles).
This property is in a select, residential development with several other holiday homes and private dwellings at Preston, just 2 miles from Weymouth centre. It is only a minute’s walk via private access to the beach. The property is slightly tucked away, offering a greater sense of privacy. It has its own small patio with excellent sea views, while both the living area and the main bedroom also enjoy lovely sea views from this corner of the development. It is particularly suited to couples and smaller families, sleeping up to 4 guests, and has also proved popular with those bringing elderly or less mobile relatives for a relaxing break. This is a well-equipped and cosy seaside home with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. On the ground floor, the twin-bedded room has a convenient adjacent shower room with WC and basin. Upstairs, there is a double bedroom with an en-suite bathroom including a WC and a shower over bath. This upstairs bedroom enjoys far-reaching sea views across Weymouth Bay to Portland. NB: There are some height restrictions on the sides of the upstairs dormer window. Downstairs, the compact open-plan living area comprises a lounge space with a small drop-leaf folding table and chairs for dining, alongside a well-equipped kitchen with everything you need to make a hearty breakfast or evening meal.
Step outside via the patio doors to find a picnic bench and an additional garden bench, ideal for outdoor dining and enjoying the views. The patio is well positioned for catching the sun and includes a sheltered, sunny corner perfect for evening dining al fresco. Please note the patio is not enclosed on all sides, and there is a short drop at the rear. From here, you can watch the acrobatics of kite and wind surfers, or simply relax, soak up the sun, and take in the stunning views of the Jurassic Coast stretching all the way to the Isle of Portland and the Nothe Fort.
