Set within a small collection of similar barns on a working farm, this impressive conversion (completed in 2026) provides a restful retreat for one or two guests. It’s less than a mile from the village of Barrow, which boasts a handy shop and two welcoming pubs, making dining out an easy option. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking and cycling, with pretty lanes and charming villages to explore, while within 10 miles you can reach both Lackford Lakes Nature Reserve, a wildlife oasis with reed beds, meadows, woodland and lakes, and Nowton Park, a beautiful country park with two arboretums. For a change of pace, the historic market town of Bury St Edmunds, renowned for its food scene, is just 6.5 miles away. Newmarket and its racecourse is 9 miles away, and historic Cambridge is only 24 miles away.

Back down on the ground floor, you’ll find a stylish and practical kitchen/diner: a light-filled space with a wooden floor and soaring, double-height ceiling. It includes an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher and a microwave – everything necessary for easy holiday cooking. There’s also a coffee machine for that essential morning beverage, which you can enjoy at the generous dining table or perhaps in the garden. Also on this level are the king-size bedroom, with soothing, natural tones to promote a restful night’s sleep, and a very large bathroom which includes both a bath and a walk-in shower.
