About this cottage rental

An easily accessible, single-storey property, this East Devon cottage could suit all sorts of guests. Sleeping four people, the two-bedroom hideaway is wheelchair friendly and includes features such as an entrance ramp. Situated 1.5 miles from Upottery, it benefits from an enviable position deep within the Blackdown Hills National Landscape and overlooking the Otter Valley, making it also ideal for those who enjoy spending time in the great outdoors. Head into the market town of Honiton, 6 miles away, to spend time in the independent shops and stock up on fresh local produce. Wander the exhibitions in the Thelma Hulbert Gallery and discover more about the town’s lace-making history at the Allhallows Museum. Make a day trip down to the coast at Seaton, 15 miles away, where you can pick up the South West Coast Path. Lyme Regis, also on the Jurassic Coast, is 18.5 miles away.

Head up the easy-access ramp to the front door and enter to find well-designed, single-storey accommodation with underfloor heating. To your right is the kitchen, with everything you need to assist you in your culinary endeavours. The open-plan lounge/diner is situated at the rear of the property, where its glass doors frame the magnificent, undulating views. Open these on fine sunny days to bring the outside in. Settle on the soft seating to watch TV, read a book or simply gaze out at the scenery. There is also a Smart TV here for your viewing entertainment. The large table offers good space for holiday meals and games. When the day catches up to you, make your way through to one of the bedrooms, both of which are accessed from the hall. Here, you have a twin room with plenty of space for two guests, and a double bedroom with a second Smart TV. To the right of the hall is the family wet room.

Socialise out in the sunshine on your private, enclosed deck. Sip a glass of chilled wine as you enjoy the spectacular rural views. Stroll around the lush, shared garden and make your way 50 metres to the shared, on-site carp lake, which guests with a fishing license and barbless hooks are welcome to use. There is also a seating area that is perfect for summer picnics. Private parking for two cars is provided.
