Hike the Smuggler’s Way for spectacular views from the moor’s two highest hills – Brown Willy and Rough Tor. For woodlands and waterfalls, head to Golitha Falls (7.5 miles), while Cardinham Woods (8 miles) offers waymarked trails and incredible scenery. The iconic Jamaica Inn (5 miles) has an atmospheric smuggler’s bar, while Bodmin (10 miles) is the nearest town for supermarkets and places to eat, plus Bodmin Jail and a nostalgic steam railway. There’s also a historic pub and shop in nearby village of St Neot (4 miles). Take your pick of beautiful beaches and fishing villages on both coastlines, including Par Sands, Looe, Polperro, and Port Isaac (all within 25 miles).
