Tucked away on the edge of the Kent Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the peaceful village of St Mary’s Platt, this rural holiday home is an idyllic base for couples or solo travellers. Step straight from the door onto footpaths and trails that link up with the famous North Downs Way. The location is ideal for discovering some of Kent’s finest historic houses and gardens. Ightham Mote (5 miles) is a beautifully preserved medieval manor surrounded by woodland, while Knole (9 miles), set within a vast deer park, is one of England’s grandest stately homes. Chartwell (14 miles), once the home of Winston Churchill, and Hever Castle (15 miles), childhood home of Anne Boleyn, both offer fascinating insights into the past. For scientific history, visit Darwin House (21 miles), where Charles Darwin developed his theory of evolution, or travel to Sevenoaks (8 miles) for independent shops and cafes. Borough Green rail station (2 miles) has regular trains to London and the famous Brands Hatch circuit (9 miles) always has a full programme of events.

Stairs lead up to the first floor, where a restful king-size bedroom is finished in soft, neutral tones and looks out across the surrounding fields. A contemporary shower room with power shower completes the layout.
Outside, the enclosed patio garden is arranged with a table, chairs and a charcoal BBQ for al fresco dining when the mood takes you. There is private parking for one car, so coming and going will be a breeze throughout your stay.
