Rooms Merlika -Inside the Castle-

The view is incredible. Its within the old castle walls with the view of the valley below. Since they close off the street market to cars during the busy hours, it was quiet and peaceful. If you're driving, there are several parking lots at the bottom of the hill, but there is parking at the hotel, too. Check with the hotel on the best times to arrive. And if you need help getting there, be sure to call. The hotel includes a restaurant serving traditional Albanian foods. Breakfast was included. It was all really good. We traveled with our cat this time, and there was enough room for her travel kennel, her litter box in the bathroom, and a place for her food and water bowl. Since we arrived early, we sat in the shade of their eating area with her until the room was available. All the staff is very friendly. My Albanian is terrible, but they know English well enough to converse a bit. Not many Albanian hotels have mini fridges (at least not the small mom&pop hotels we've stayed at), so I was delighted to see a mini fridge in the room. TV and AC is also included.

I don't really have anything negative to say. Except the bed. Its adequate, but not super comfortable. For the bathroom they only provide hand soap and toilet paper, so make sure to bring your own shampoo/body wash, etc. I did get lost trying to find the place, but that's on Google Maps and not on the hotel. We were visiting in mid-August 2026, and their credit card machine was down, so make sure to have cash on hand. There is an ATM along the street market.

Todo genial, algo complejo el tema del acceso al estar donde está, pero por lo demás genial. Muy educado y servicial el servicio. Las vistas son espectaculares

Deberían mejorar la explicación para llegar. Es fácil perderse y al ser una ciudad muy turística, la gente de los parking privados te acosas y te mientes. Puedes aparcar en el mismo hotel.

Room cold on arrival. Dusty in places. Uneven floor with hearth covered by rug. Very much a trip.hszard.
