About this house rental
Who says a fish camp can't be cute and comfortable? This 2-bedroom, 2-bath bungalow sits under oaks in the front yard and cypress in the back, shading the house, screened porch, back deck and boathouse. There's plenty of room to park your trailer and the Astor ramp (no fee) is only 2 miles away. Keys to the boat lift with user agreement.
Enjoy coffee on the screened porch before heading a few houses down the canal to the river where crappie, shellcracker, bass, and bluegill wait for you in the St. Johns River and Lake George. Make sure to take a ride around Morrison Island just north of our canal or head down Blue Creek to see the painted bird houses left by locals. If you want to take in some winter warmth, the side yard by the canal is perfect for sunning--a Manatee might even swim by the seawall!
After a day on the water, use the Webber on the dock, sit by the backyard fire pit, or relax in the 450-square-foot screened porch overlooking the canal. A dining table for six, a smart TV and plenty of deep-cushion seating gives you loads of options, Exterior Ring cameras monitor and record the front entry and back dock area for safety.
Inside, you'll find two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and an indoor laundry. A fully-equipped kitchen (real people live here!) and a wide breakfast bar open into a living room with a huge sectional, cozy fireplace and 55" smart TV. A bistro table and shuffleboard in the sunroom, complete the indoor space.
Surrounded by the Ocala National Forest in a golf-cart neighborhood, nature is everywhere. There's the Bluffton hiking trail along the river, Alexander Springs up the road, and the beloved Old Sugar Mill Pancake house in De Leon Springs State Park (drive or boat!) famous for the griddle on your table. Thirty minutes away is the small city of Deland, offering boutique shopping and bigger stores. Ormond Beach is 45 min east, and Disney an hour and a half south. A golf-cart ride away is the family-owned, Triple Z Market for basic groceries and Sammies Sweet Shop for the best homemade ice cream around. There’s a Dollar General, Subway and Circle-K up the street and Sparky's Pizza and Ace Hardware near the bridge. There's also Castaways for beer and burgers, and Drifters--our favorite riverside spot that you can actually get to faster by boat!
If this sounds like heaven (it is!) send us a message and tell us a little bit about who you are. We are looking for people who can rent for the whole winter season--folks who love nature, fishing, and boating! Maybe even retirees like us who will take good care of our dream home while enjoying it like we do. We live an hour from the river house and are only ever a phone call away.
