The Neighborhood:
Dubbo is a great regional destination!
The Western Plains Zoo is just minutes away, home to one of Australia's most impressive open-range wildlife experiences where giraffes, rhinos and lions roam in wide open spaces, a world away from a traditional city zoo. The Dubbo Golf Course is equally close for those who want to get a round in before breakfast.
History lovers won't want to miss the Old Dubbo Gaol, one of the region's most fascinating attractions. The restored 1800s jail brings colonial history to life with animatronic characters, gallows, and cells you can walk through - genuinely captivating for adults and kids alike, and right in the heart of town.
When hunger strikes, Dubbo's dining scene delivers well above what you'd expect from a regional town. Some great cafes like Press and the Harvest are sure to serve up a delicious feast among great coffee. Tanoshi is a great Japanese restaurant as well as CSC.
You can also visit Devil Hollows Brewery!
When you need to stock up, supermarkets, shops and everything else are a short drive into the town centre. Dubbo is also perfectly positioned as a base for exploring further, Mudgee's wine country, Orange, and the wider Central West are all easy day trips if you want to venture out.
