About this house rental

Summary:

Scenic escape near town with firepit, 3 decks, game room & shared pool

The Space:

The classic cabin motif meets modern comfort in the rolling hills of Elijay here at Cabin Hideaway, a scenic three-story getaway perfect for groups of friends and families to enjoy year-round. Whether you have come to ski, hike, mountain bike, whitewater raft, or check out the excitement of East Elijay, this will be the perfect starting and ending point to each dreamy vacation day.

Start each morning with a fresh cup of coffee and head out to one of the three furnished decks to sit and listen to the birds as the sun comes up. After full days of excitement, there will be no better way to gather back at home base to reminisce about the day's adventures than gathering for a meal at the accommodating dining table on the second floor. Luckily, you won't have to venture out to pick up dinner, as the full kitchen is more than ready to assist with preparing your favorite recipes from scratch. Entertaining will be easy as well with the WiFi and streaming capabilities on the flatscreen TV. Plus, the lower level will be claimed by the young at heart featuring an air hockey table, a mounted flatscreen TV, and access to the lower deck. Don't forget to make the most of warm summer nights and stargaze by the firepit!

Comfortable and cozy mountain home above a spectacular bend in the Coosawattee river. The resort community maintains an amazing "wilderness" feel. During the day, you would never know there were dozens of other homes hiding under the trees nearby. Only at night do you see the lights of the other homes through the thick forest of the resort. The sound of river rapids and flocks of geese filled the air and added to the stunning views up the river gorge, making our family Thanksgiving vacation a special one. But so did the gas-powered leaf blower at another home somewhere down the hillside... for several hours (?). The bedrooms were comfortable and private. The kids loved the air hockey table and corn hole. Entry and parking were easy, although VACASA doesn't send instructions until the day before. We had family coming in from three directions, all wanting to know how to get there and get in. Having that info a couple of days earlier would have eliminated a good bit of anxiety. We did not utilize any of the resort amenities, but will say that "taking a short walk" was quite a bit of exercise given the local terrain. Otherwise, this house was ideal for the 6 adults and 2 kids in our party.

Our 👪 of 8 were looking for a place to meet for my husband's 70th birthday. We live in AL and the rest live in TN. We needed a place close to Atlanta cause one grandson had a baseball tournament in Atlanta and he and his dad would be going back and forth. We settled on this place for a long 3 night stay weekend. We use to could pull up the address and check out more info. Since you don't give out the address until after we booked we didn't realize the cabin was within a gated community with the cabin being 8 to 10 minutes away from the gate. The roads were very curvy and narrow and dangerous. We loved the cabin but the location was less than desirable. The map we got at the gate was terrible and we got lost finding our cabin. The roads were not marked well. Also the driveway was steep and parking was compact. After we booked we were told we HAD TO buy an amenity card to use the swimming pools and rec center. We didn't use the card. I had several questions before our stay. I had to email my questions to Vacasa and it would be a day or 2 before I got an answer. Then I was finally was given phone numbers after my emails. Usually when I called, no one knew the answers. This "going back and forth " was very dissapointing and stressful. I have used VRBO many times and never had this much trouble. I like to talk to people, especially the owners, not through emails or texts from management companies. We enjoyed the cabin. It had 3 floors so each family had their own floor. The view from the back porch was beautiful. We could hear the river flowing. Getting to the river was a challenge but the grandkids loved looking for mud puppies and crawfish.. the restaurants in Ellijay were very good, even though we grilled out at the cabin most of the time. We also enjoyed the Ellijay River rafting. We will probably vacation again around the area but not in the Coosawattee River Resort.
