The area is famous for cycling and there are many hiking trails and golf courses close by.
Muskoka Lakes Farm and Winery is walking distance from the cottage featuring: Wine Tasting, Cranberry Marsh Tours, Wine & Cheese Patio, Café and Wine & Gift Store year round. All access must be prebooked online.
Glen Orchard General Store- 2 kms- For your morning paper, groceries, fresh coffee selection, pies, desserts, gourmet foods cooked on site as well as BBQ selections.
Bala- 6 kms - Picturesque, located on Lake Muskoka and Moon River, access to shopping, site seeing, Bala Falls, Don's Bakery, Jack & Stella, restaurants and outdoor cafes, art exhibits, Farmer's Market on Monday mornings, water ski show Tuesday nights in Windsor Park.
Port Carling-10 kms- Hub of the three major Muskoka lakes and vacation resorts as well as boat locks, library, restaurants, art exhibits, museum, drugstore, cafes, shopping, grocery stores.
Gravenhurst-20 kms- Steam ship Tours on the Seguin and Winona, largest docking area on Lake Muskoka, boat museum and water shows, restaurants, Wednesday Farmers Market (don't miss it!)
Bracebridge- 35 kms- Scenic drive through Muskoka Township to Bracebridge. Santa's Village, shopping, movie theatre, restaurants, hospital, boat tours, Saturday Farmers Market.
