Just 5.5kms from the heart of Coromandel Township, this modern, country escape has a cosy open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area which flows out onto the spacious deck via a large stacker ranch slider. Whether you're lazing in a bean bag or deck chair, under the shade of the umbrella or basking in the sun, this delightful spot won't disappoint. Slightly elevated, this location offers stunning sunsets, and for the stargazers the evening displays will certainly get your attention.
The queen bedroom is a separate dwelling but just steps from the main living area. You can pop directly across the deck or take the undercover walkway to the rear entrance passing the bathroom on the way. Shower and vanity are semi open-aired but entirely covered and protected from the elements. The clear perspex roof allowing you to literally shower beneath the stars! The separate toilet is completely enclosed. All quality bedroom and bathroom linen is provided. Beach towels are also supplied.
Sizeable kitchenette is well equipped with your basic needs and has a full size fridge/freezer, microwave, twin element hotplate, bench top oven with air fry function and a slow cooker. For the BBQ lovers a Weber is also available for your use. There is salt & pepper, oil and enough tea, coffee, sugar and milk to get you started - don't forget to bring your favourite grinds for the plunger!
Fast, unlimited Starlink internet is ideal for the work orientated, perfect for a writers retreat or simply for catching up with those long overdue movies on the Chromecast TV. There is a Bluetooth speaker and washing machine/dryer - all the creature comforts of home.
At low tide it's just a 50 meter walk down the road and over the creek to the nearby tidal Shelly Beach. For a swim at high tide, a walk of 300-350 meters via Calloway Lane is the route to take. Safe swimming Oamaru Bay and boat ramp is just 1.2 kms north. This is also tidal.
Shelly Bay Motor Camp, just back around the corner and over the bridge, has a shop that opens at 8.30am. It sells the basics - Bait, Ice, Cold drinks, Ice Cream, Milk and other day to day essentials you may need.
**Things to Note**
We are on limited tank water, (which goes through a safe drinking 3 filter system) - conservation is essential. In the summer/dry season, we ask you to please limit the length of your showers and only use the washing machine once you have a full load - preferably not to be used on a daily basis. Washing of cars and boats is strictly prohibited however we do appreciate you may need to quickly rinse your motor through.
Please take care on the deck. There is not a protective railing on the edge - Not suitable for young children.
Although the rear walkway to bedroom and bathroom is protected from above, in certain prevailing rains you will have a brief second of exposure as you get undercover to and from the living area.
There is not a full size stove top or oven. A twin electric element and bench top oven only available.
