The Horse Box Hut

This recently converted horsebox was comfy and warm, and the secluded location and views across the fields were superb. Bed was very comfortable, as was the sofa for an evening with a book. The toilet/shower/washing up facilities were just over a wooden bridge, and were clean and in good order.

‘Kitchenette’ is pushing it - there was a fridge, kettle and airfryer, plates and bowls, and limited cutlery. Future guests, definitely stay here but think of it as glamping, not a fully stocked apartment. As others have said, some softer lighting or a bedside light would be handy.

Lovely quiet location. Clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Don’t be put off by the slightly shabby exterior, it only adds to its character. Inside you’ll find the most comfortable double bed, small sofa, fridge and small kitchen items ( kettle, air fryer and toaster ) inside the cabinets. Everything you need for a cosy night in. You can also enjoy the sofas on the decking although note it’s still a little wobbly as it’s a work in progress. Would definitely choose over premier inn style hotels and book again in future. Many thanks to the hosts for their help.

It’s not a case of what I didn’t like more a case of things to be aware of. The horsebox is very warm even without heating and as it’s in the open country opening doors and windows attracts the mosquitoes. As such we used the fan and kept them closed. The main lighting is very bright and at the time of our visit the one side light did not work. They could do with a light above the bed so maybe take a torch or lantern which will also be useful for trips over the bridge to the loo block at night. The box is ideal for two adults but I imagine if you have another staying in the top bunk they will be very warm and squished up there as it’s very close to the ceiling. It’s worth noting there’s only one loo and shower shared with the neighbours so you might be waiting in the morning if your a shower person or get desperate. But all that aside we would definitely stay again. 😁

Very quirky converted horse transporter on edge of a cornfield- need a photo to show it as it adds to its uniqueness. Comfy double bed. Clean. Outdoor seating area.

Part of its quirkiness is that one had to cross (dry)stream to access toilet shower unit ( shared with yurt) unlit at night -not made clear in description. Towel wasn’t clean and not enough loo roll. Second bed very confined thank goodness’s for sofa.
