Windmill Retreat Cottage Spa Sauna Ice & Fire

Windmill Retreat exceeded our expectations in every way - from the photos we were very excited for our stay but were blown away by the high standard of every little detail. The cottage was so thoughtfully put together and everything felt so considered, from the fans and aromatic diffuser that created a perfect arrival atmosphere, the complimentary wine on arrival for my partner's birthday, the top-tier coffee machine, wine coolers, shelves filled with books and even the high-tech toilet, to of course the amazing spa, sauna and ice bath, which were the main reason we chose to stay, and absolutely did not disappoint. The views and sunsets over the hills and looking out to the paddocks of cows were simply breathtaking. We didn't want to leave the whole stay and would definitely book for longer next time so we could see and do more while still taking time to enjoy the facilities. We loved doing saunas and ice baths every morning and relaxing in the hot tub under the stars. The gardens were beautiful and thriving. Communication with host was flawless from start to finish and we felt very welcomed and catered to while still enjoying privacy. This property has obviously been put together with a lot of love and consideration and really feels like a dream home away from home. We are already looking forward to planning our next trip! Thank you Kimberley and Gerry for having us, you have created something truly special.

Our only note was that we couldn't find a corkscrew bottle opener. Otherwise perfect!

Such a beautiful vibe!

Nothing

A big thank you for the host's hospitality & a very warm welcome to the wonderful stay for 3 nights. We definitely had a relaxing time while enjoying the spa & sauna. It was so lovely to wake up to the birds flying around & drinking from the windmill pond & with the cattle grazing in the paddock while we were enjoying our breakfast on the patio. Thank you so much for the thoughtful gift upon arrival to celebrate our 35th Wedding Anniversary. We will definitely be back as it is a great location to all the wineries & an easy walk to The Church & Ballandean Pub.
