About this cabin rental
THE ORIGIN STORY
The Snug is more than a vacation rental, it's a dwelling built on a dream. My parents owned this land for many years before building the Snug. They camped here through countless summers, dreaming of a place they could someday call their own. My dad, a skilled homebuilder, eventually designed and built this cabin as a summer retreat for my mom, a beloved Tucson schoolteacher and dedicated community volunteer.
She wanted a cabin that felt connected to nature without the dustiness of a traditional log cabin or the work of a wood burning fireplace. The result is bright, comfortable, and easy-to-love home, with an electric stone fireplace for cozy evenings and large windows that bring the outdoors in.
My mom filled the cabin with eclectic mountain and Native inspired touches and created places to sit outside and enjoy the cool mountain air. She loved starting her mornings with a cup of hot water and lemon, watching sunlight filter through the pines from the gazebo. She passed away nine years ago but the peaceful ambiance she created still remains: a place designed for slowing down, reconnecting, and appreciating life's simple pleasures.
