About this apartment rental

Shippon is a conveniently located ground-floor barn-style property with a gorgeous open-plan living space where natural light floods in.
Upon entering the property, you are welcomed into the open-plan lounge and kitchen area, complete with comfortable sofas where you can relax in the evening with a glass of wine and enjoy a film on the Smart TV. The kitchen is fully equipped for creating culinary delights, to be enjoyed around the chunky wooden dining table.
When it is time for bed, there is one super king bedroom with an en-suite featuring a walk-in shower, and a further twin bedroom. Both rooms offer crisp linen and luxurious Hypnos beds.
All of the rooms are bright and airy, with tasteful décor enhanced by pretty touches of colour.
The location is ideal for walkers, with circular routes directly from the estate. Enjoy a stroll along the River Thames, or head in the opposite direction to Marsh Baldon or Toot Baldon, where you will find The Mole Inn and The Seven Stars, both lovely village pubs and the perfect pit stop for a bite to eat.
The Park & Ride into Oxford is just a 10-minute drive away, and there is also a bus stop in Nuneham Courtenay village with direct services into Oxford.
Westgate Shopping Centre is Oxford’s main retail destination, offering an excellent range of shops, along with a rooftop terrace featuring bars and restaurants. You can also visit the historic Covered Market, bustling with independent shops, butchers, greengrocers and cafés. Among the many attractions in the city, you can try your hand at punting, visit locations featured in Morse and other TV dramas, explore the University buildings, or enjoy a day out at The Story Museum.
Blenheim Palace, Bicester Village and the Cotswolds are all within easy reach, as is Henley-on-Thames.
Next door to the estate is Harcourt Arboretum, which has historic links to the estate’s previous owners, the Harcourt family. Marvel at the impressive collection of trees and enjoy the many interesting events held throughout the year.
For those who enjoy active pursuits, Queenford Lake is just down the road, offering open-water swimming, watersports and, during the warmer months, Wet N Wild. Nearby walking routes take in the beautiful scenery of Wittenham Clumps and extend into the Chiltern Hills, offering excellent walking, running and cycling trails.
Parking is available for two cars.
Dogs are very welcome to join you during your stay, there is a £50 charge per pet and they must not be left unattended at the property at any time.
With our concierge service, we can arrange a private chef, activities such as clay shooting and pottery, as well as special decorations for your stay.
Please be aware that the property is located in a rural area and there is no outside lighting, so it can be quite dark at night.
Just a small note—we kindly ask that food deliveries are not arranged to the property, as drivers often have difficulty finding us and this has unfortunately led to issues with neighbouring properties. For convenience, we recommend using Click & Collect at the local Sainsbury’s for any food shopping.
