To be fair, the hosts can't control the neighbours. It was my bad luck that my stay coincided with the renovation of the adjoining terrace. This meant that every weekday morning by 8.00 A.M. drilling, hammering, thumping and yelling began and continued throughout the day with only occasional lulls until 4.00 P.M. When that abated, the occupants of the house behind took over with frequent social gatherings in the backyard that included screaming children, shouting adults, loud music and lengthy karaoke sessions that carried on well into the evening.
