Our vacation home (Finnhaus) is located in the southeastern part of Rügen, Germany’s largest vacation island, on the Mönchgut Peninsula. The cottage is ideal for families with children, as the quiet grounds of the resort feature a small playground, and the fine-sand Baltic Sea beach—which slopes gently into the water—is just 300 meters from the house. The beach slopes very gently into the Baltic Sea, making it perfect for your children to swim and splash around while you relax. There’s also a large beach snack bar nearby, and a food truck selling ice cream, hot dogs, and other treats drives along the beach at regular intervals. If you’re looking for a beach chair, these are also available for rent nearby, right on the beach.
Now about the house:
The house features a south-facing sun terrace with garden furniture and a parasol, perfect for sunbathing and relaxing. In addition, there are two bedrooms in the attic, a shower room, a cozy living room with satellite TV and a stereo system, etc., and a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, stove with oven, refrigerator, dishes, etc., so you can prepare your own meals and, when the weather on Rügen is nice, perhaps even enjoy breakfast outdoors in nature or have dinner on the terrace. A private parking space, located just about 20–30 m away, is included with your reservation. Pets are also welcome by prior arrangement.
The Baltic Sea resort of Göhren is about 5 km away and easily accessible by bike. Other Baltic Sea resorts such as Sellin, Binz, and many other smaller beach towns (Thießow, 2 km) are not far from your accommodation and invite you to stroll and wander along the boardwalks. There are also many other diverse activities to discover on Rügen—there’s definitely something for everyone, young and old alike.

At the Mönchgut municipal office in Baabe, you can also obtain your spa cards (required), which entitle you to many discounts throughout the surrounding area.
