About this cottage rental
This thoughtfully converted, red-brick barn makes an ideal base for a solo adventure or a couple’s escape. Just 6.5 miles away, Tewkesbury is a medieval market town where you’ll find a magnificent Norman abbey, a variety of museums, and plenty of independent boutiques to explore. For even more retail therapy, the Cotswolds Designer Outlet is just 8.5 miles away. The Three Counties Showground is 6.5 miles away and, if you fancy a day at the races, Cheltenham is just 15 miles away. Upton Upon Severn is just 2 miles away and hosts various festivals throughout the summer. Lovers of the incredible natural scenery will want to head into the Malvern Hills National Landscape, the edge of which is only around 5 miles from your door. Also within striking distance are the Wye Valley and the Cotswolds, offering a choice of outdoor activities, pretty towns and villages, and excellent National Trust gardens.
The barn is in the centre of a working farm, with tractors and livestock going about their daily business. Once a shed for the Massey Ferguson Tractor, it has been beautifully restored as a two-storey detached barn. Featuring wonderful original details and impressively high ceilings, it has been designed for comfort, style and relaxation. After a day in the fresh air, hang up your coats, kick off your walking boots and enter through to the delightful kitchen, which has plenty of Shaker-style cabinets and includes both a microwave and a dishwasher for convenience. Head into the welcoming lounge/diner, which features a wide, floor-to-ceiling window with lovely countryside views. Comfortable seating is positioned to enjoy quiet moments together, perhaps streaming a movie on the Smart TV. On the first floor, the open landing leads to a tranquil, king-size bedroom set beneath the eaves, as well as a refreshing shower room.
Outside, you’ll have a fully enclosed garden with a small patio and an area of lawn. A bistro set for two is provided, ready for dining alfresco or sipping a drink in the sunshine. An adjacent gravelled area provides useful off-road parking for one car.
