About this house rental
Welcome to the barefoot comfort of Casa Rom. Located 10 minutes walking from Santo Domingo and Centro Oaxaca and offers stunning views of the surrounding valley, mountains and Monte Alban. We love this space and hope you find it as cozy and welcoming as we do.
We have partnered with local artisans and woodworkers to create some custom home furnishings such as a Japaneae joinery style wood bed-frame in the master bedroom, locally sources dining table and chairs and custom designed kitchen island and counter space.
A few important notes to make up front before you make the decision to book with us:
1. We describe our home as a “hikers paradise”. This means we are within 5 minutes of some of the best trails in Oaxaca. This also means that we are at a higher elevation, offering stunning views of the valley of Oaxaca and the surrounding mountains. The walk to the house from Centro is recommended for those of able body as its uphill.
To mitigate this we provide numbers of a taxi service that will reliably pick you up from the door when needed.
2. During the dry season water delivery from the city can be unreliable. We have a 10, 000L cistern which stores roughly a month of water at regular usage. However if you are in need of water delivery during your stay we will contact a delivery service at additional cost (typically around $900 MXN). Please be mindful of your water usage during your stay as this area experiences seasonal water scarcity.
