Set on Fitz Road, a quiet residential area, the property enjoys a convenient position just a short stroll from the centre of Cockermouth, one of the Lake District’s most characterful market towns. Known for its colourful Georgian streets, independent shops, cosy cafés, and great local pubs, Cockermouth offers a lovely mix of traditional Cumbrian charm and a lively food and drink scene. The town is also famously the birthplace of William Wordsworth and sits on the edge of both the Lake District National Park and the Solway Coast. From Fitz Road, it takes around 10–15 minutes to walk into the heart of town, making it easy to enjoy everything Cockermouth has to offer without needing to use the car.
Cockermouth is well placed for exploring both the Lake District and the wider Cumbria area, with good road and public transport connections despite its peaceful market town feel.
The town is connected by regular bus services to nearby destinations including Keswick, Workington, Carlisle, and Penrith, making it easy to explore without the car. For rail travel, the nearest train stations are at Workington and Penrith, both reachable within around 25–35 minutes by car or bus. Penrith station sits on the West Coast Main Line, offering direct services to cities including London, Glasgow, and Manchester.
By road, Cockermouth is conveniently located just off the A66, giving straightforward access east towards Penrith and the M6, or west towards the Cumbrian coast. This makes it a great base for exploring everything from the Northern Fells and Bassenthwaite Lake to the quieter western Lakes and coastline.
The house is set across multiple levels, which may not suit guests with limited mobility.
Parking is available for 2/3 cars in the driveway.
