Sone of the amenities were a problem.1) The dryer did not work, which we were advised about by “Matt” just prior to arrival. As a result we could not do any laundry!2) When we used the ovens one evening they emitted significant smoke - which did not set off any smoke alarms, which was a worry, but…..3) There seem to be 2 smoke detectors by the back door, which seems to be the wrong place to have them AND on the day after the ovens emitted.smoke, for some unknown reason one of the detectors started periodically beeping and would not stop! We called Matt and he had someone come to the house and disconnect the beeping detector. We think the house has no operating smoke detector (or carbon monoxide detector for that matter). There is an iPad that seems maybe could be used to see what is working, but it was not understandable to any of us.4) The towel rail in the en-suite bathroom kept falling off the door it was installed on due to poor installation - whenever that was! Jerry, who Matt sent over to disconnect the beeping smoke alarm, thankfully fixed the problem.5) One evening the fridge started making a noise that sounded like a fan was hitting something. It eventually stopped, but a “replace air filter” message”came up on the front door panel. So..,that was annoying.6) All the dining chairs are wobbly/shakey to some degree. They need some TLC.7) The en-suite bath drains very slowly. It also needs some TLC. Also the downstairs toilet is wobbly!

We really enjoyed the house. It's on a quiet street a short drive to town and Okemo. It was well stocked with soap, paper goods, etc and the kitchen was updated and had everything needed to cook. It's nicely furnished and we also appreciated being able to park in the garage. We will stay again when we visit Okemo. The property manager was helpful when needed.

VACASA gave us the code to get into the house. It didn't work. We went to the lock box by the garage. We couldn't get into it. After calling the VACASA number and speaking with an agent who gave us multiple codes to enter into the key pad on the front door. We still could not get into the house. The VACASA agent said that she would call a local person to come to the house whilst we stood outside in 28 Deg F. Thankfully we were finally able to get the lock box open. For future guests this is not a normal lock box. I tried to call the local Ludlow VACASA office to let the local agent know we were able to get into the house. That number went to a voicemail with a full mailbox. Finally VACASA's handyman showed up. He was the only useful person in this whole process. He could not get the key pad to work either and told us it had been broken, that there had been issues with it and it had recently been replaced. We let him know we would use the old fashioned door key for the remainder of the trip. The thing is, this is a lovely house to stay in and we have stayed there a number of times. The rest of the weekend was lovely and whilst the kitchen is not the best equipped kitchen if you want to cook, it has the basics.
