About this house rental
In the heart of the Penedès, surrounded by nature and some of Spain’s most renowned wineries, Casa Delestrac is a private historic estate with a presence rarely found.
Built in 1754 as a paper mill, with part of its production destined for Cuba, and later transformed into an olive oil mill, the building is listed as part of Catalonia’s Architectural Heritage. After five years of careful restoration, it has been brought back to life with sensitivity, character and deep respect for its history. Today, Casa Delestrac is not simply a place to stay. It is a destination in itself.
A PRIVATE STAY
The house is reserved in full and exclusively for one group at a time. It is designed for families, friends, special gatherings, intimate celebrations, creative and corporate retreats, or any occasion that deserves something truly different.
LIVING SPACES
With over 700 m² across two floors, Casa Delestrac welcomes up to 12 guests, offering generous space to come together when you want, and to retreat when you need.
On the first floor, the great living room invites long conversations and slow meals. The main kitchen - professional, generous and fully equipped for serious cooking - sits at the heart of the house. The winter garden opens the living room to the sky: a centuries-old stone wall, a glass roof, a plunge pool, teppanyaki and barbecue. Inside and outside at once.
For film nights, there is a private cinema room with a 98-inch screen and seven seats.
THE LOFT
Upstairs, the loft reveals another dimension of the building. This monumental, light-filled space is where paper was once hung to dry almost three centuries ago. Today, it is the second social heart of Casa Delestrac: a lounge, workspace, reading area and place to gather, with a kitchen/bar ideal for morning coffee or evening drinks. A fully equipped gym and a yoga/meditation space sit beneath the historic wooden beams.
THE SUITES
The five suites, each with its own private bathroom, offer the comfort and independence of a boutique hotel. For groups of 11 or 12, an additional cosy mezzanine sleeping area is available, best suited to children, teenagers or guests happy with an informal loft-style space.
WINE COUNTRY
Around the house lies the Penedès, a region often described as the Catalan Tuscany: vineyards stretching towards the horizon, iconic wineries and a landscape shaped for centuries by exceptional wine and gastronomy. The 150 hectares of vineyards belonging to Caves Masachs surround the village. Parés Baltà, internationally recognised for organic and biodynamic wines, is just 5 minutes away. Bodegas Torres is 10 minutes from the house. Less than 15 minutes away is Sant Sadurní d’Anoia, the world capital of Cava, home to Freixenet, Codorníu, Llopart and dozens of wineries open to visitors.
WALKS & WATERFALLS
Nature has its own treasures here too. Font de les Dous, with its natural waterfall and woodland setting, is just 1.5 km from the house on foot. The Pèlags del Foix, turquoise pools carved into the river rock, can be reached on an easy walk of around an hour and a half.
CYCLING
The Penedès is also one of Spain’s great cycling destinations, both for road cycling and mountain biking, with routes through vineyards, forests and scenic climbs that stay with you long after the ride.
NEARBY
Vilafranca del Penedès, with its restaurants and wine culture, is 10 minutes away. The beaches of Sitges and Vilanova are 30 minutes away. Barcelona and its airport are 45 minutes away.
Casa Delestrac sits in that rare, perfect place: close enough to everything, and far enough from the rest.
