Whether you're visiting for a festival, a wedding, business, or simply to soak in the charm of the Crescent City, this location puts you exactly where you want to be: walkable, historic, and connected to everything New Orleans has to offer.

Prime Uptown Location
St. Charles Avenue is one of the most iconic streets in America, lined with centuries-old oak trees and grand historic mansions. Step outside and you're steps from the streetcar, which will carry you effortlessly downtown to the French Quarter, the Central Business District, and Bourbon Street, or in the other direction to Audubon Park and the Audubon Zoo. No rental car needed — this is one of the most walkable and transit-friendly neighborhoods in the city.

Within easy walking distance, you'll find:

Magazine Street — six miles of boutique shopping, art galleries, cafes, and locally owned restaurants
St. Charles Avenue and Prytania Street — historic architecture, dining, and nightlife
Audubon Park and Audubon Zoo — beautiful green space, walking trails, and family-friendly attractions
Tulane University and Loyola University — for visiting families, alumni events, or campus visits
Live music venues and neighborhood bars showcasing the sound of New Orleans

During festival season, hop on the streetcar and be at French Quarter Fest, Jazz Fest, or Mardi Gras parade routes in minutes, without the parking headaches that come with driving into the city center.

Comfortable, Well-Equipped Home
This 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom unit is designed for a relaxing stay after a day of exploring:

Spacious living room, perfect for unwinding
Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook meals or store leftovers from the city's incredible restaurant scene
In-unit washer and dryer, ideal for longer stays or laundry mid-trip
Comfortable sleeping arrangements for couples, small families, or groups of friends

Good to Know Before You Book

This home is accessed via a full flight of stairs, which offers charming neighborhood views along the way — please make sure stairs are comfortable for everyone in your group before booking. There is no private driveway, but free street parking is typically easy to find in the surrounding blocks.

Why Stay Uptown Instead of the French Quarter?

Many visitors don't realize that Uptown New Orleans offers a quieter, more authentic slice of the city while still being minutes from all the action. You'll experience tree-lined streets, historic homes, and a genuine neighborhood feel — then take the streetcar whenever you want the energy of downtown or the French Quarter. It's the best of both worlds: peaceful home base, easy access to everything.

The Neighborhood

Uptown New Orleans is known for its stunning architecture, from Victorian-era mansions to classic shotgun houses, all shaded by ancient live oaks. This is the New Orleans of postcards and movies — a neighborhood where history, culture, and everyday life blend together. Locals and repeat visitors alike consider Uptown one of the best places to actually experience the city, rather than just visit it.
Book your stay today and discover why so many travelers choose Uptown New Orleans for an authentic, walkable, and unforgettable trip to the Crescent City.

We had a wonderful stay with our family of 4 in NOLA. The location of this home was very convenient - near a streetcar stop, small grocery store, CVS, and restaurants. We didn’t rent a car and our teens enjoyed navigating the streetcar. It was easy to get to the French Quarter, Tulane, and everything in between. The house was well-equipped - we really appreciated that there were plenty of dishes and towels (not always the case in rentals!), laundry & detergent, TV, and WiFi. Host was easy to communicate with and very responsive. The twin bed in the second bedroom was folded in the closet, so was a bit cramped in the room once we set it up, but our kids did not mind at all and appreciated their own beds! We would definitely stay here again if we are lucky enough to return to New Orleans!

We had such a nice stay here!Check-in was easy. Host was kind, and very responsive to our questions. Love the location! Quick walk to some great eating spots- The Creole Creamery/ La Crepe Nanou/ Superior Seafood (has a great Sunday lunch with live music)- and also an easy walk to beautiful St Charles Avenue where you can catch the trolley...so fun!Apartment was bright and clean, with lots of natural light, especially in the main living area. (Also had a large table for dining or playing games.)Bedrooms were cozy with very comfortable beds.Kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies, dishes, coffee maker, and a toaster. The bathroom, although small, provided some nice "little extras like shampoo, soap, and a blow dryer.(We truly appreciated ALL the "little extras", provided by the host, like laundry detergent, coffee, creamer, extra blankets and all the extra towels.)One thing to note is that there are stairs to access this apartment. Be sure you are physically okay with climbing stairs.Thank you for a lovely stay, Sara.We will definitely come again!
