Elbingerode is a quiet resort in the heart of the Harz Mountains and belongs to the town of Oberharz am Brocken. The former mining town is situated at an elevation of about 450–480 meters at the transition from the Lower Harz to the Upper Harz and offers a pleasant medium-altitude climate. The surroundings are ideal for hikers, cyclists, and those seeking peace and quiet. Well-marked trails lead through diverse landscapes, including the historical mining circular route in the Bode Valley. The area is particularly suitable for a nature-oriented holiday: in summer, hiking, cycling, and a natural pool invite relaxation, while in winter, cross-country skiing routes and small toboggan hills provide opportunities for activity. It is an ideal starting point for a peaceful nature vacation in the Harz Mountains, with many excursion destinations in the immediate vicinity.
