A warm welcome to the natural idyll of Mariendorf in the beautiful Baltic Sea resort of Mönchgut!
Mariendorf is a single-sided village (with buildings lining only one side of the street) surrounded by the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve and unspoiled nature. Nature lovers in particular will be in their element (highlight: the view from Schafberg!). Mariendorf is home to the “Hagensche Wiek” lagoon, featuring a charming natural beach just a stone’s throw—about 200 meters—from the “Wald am Meer” house! Cyclists can explore the beautiful Baltic Sea resort of Mönchgut in all directions from the vacation home. A bus stop is just a few steps away from the house. The sandy beaches stretching from Lobbe to Thiessow can be reached by bike or car in just a few minutes. The Baltic Sea resort of Mönchgut is a great starting point for numerous hikes and walks.
The Mönchgut visitor’s card offers excellent benefits; feel free to check the Mönchgut resort’s website in advance for more information. The Middelhagen tourist office is just a few kilometers away (e.g., to purchase fishing licenses and get information). Good to know: You’ll find the visitor’s passes already prepared in the vacation rental upon arrival.
What makes the “Wald am Meer” house special is its large natural forest property (approx. 18,000 square meters). If you look closely, you can spot deer, hares, bats, and many other forest creatures here—and there’s definitely no “tennis court” in sight! Depending on the season, there’s always plenty to discover.
The “Wald am Meer” house, which is over 100 years old, was lovingly renovated in 2020. The main house features 4 vacation apartments named “Mammutbaum,” “Schafberg,” “Zickersche Berge,” and “Hagensche Wiek.”
The “Mammutbaum” vacation rental features an open, cozy, and modern living and dining area, two bedrooms, and one bathroom. From the living and dining area, a large sliding glass door leads out to a terrace bordered by a rose hedge. The apartment’s partially exposed, old, and very well-preserved wooden beams create a very special, cozy atmosphere. Equipped with a wood-burning stove, the vacation rental exudes a cozy atmosphere even in the fall and winter—especially after long, leisurely walks.
Coming Soon: Starting in 25.03.2024, the “Wald am Meer” house and the “Rotbuche” thatched cottage will each have a sauna hut on the forest property.
Car parking spaces are available and do not need to be reserved in advance.
