About this cottage rental
Once a wing of Keithick House, this charming self-contained cottage offers stunning views over the estate’s tree-lined parkland. There are plenty of scenic walks on the estate, along with cycle routes nearby, including the Coupar Angus and Woodside Circular and trails in the Sidlaw Hills. Cyclists can also enjoy quiet country lanes around Kettins and Blairgowrie.
A half-mile private drive leads to this one-bedroom, pet-friendly property, accessed through a stone archway into the cobbled courtyard beside Keithick House. Tucked away in the corner, a red door opens into a welcoming hall, with high ceilings and elegant proportions throughout.
At its heart is a bright, south-facing, open-plan living space. A double-height ceiling and large windows flood the room with natural light, offering views over the front garden. The inviting seating area is perfect for relaxing by the eye-catching woodburning stove, complemented by the warmth of the efficient biomass heating system.
A stylish wooden breakfast bar subtly separates the well-equipped kitchen, which is bathed in light from a window overlooking the courtyard. A dining table for two completes this airy space.
The spacious double bedroom features a king-size bed and countryside views. Modern and stylish, it has fabulous hanging bedside lamps that cast a soft glow in the evenings. Next to it, the contemporary shower room has a walk-in shower, and a handy utility room offers a washing machine and drying facilities.
Though Laura’s House doesn’t have a private garden, guests can explore the estate’s scenic paths leading through farmland to the River Isla, passing paddocks where Highland cattle and Shetland ponies graze. Or simply unwind and watch for wildlife, from red squirrels and roe deer to ospreys soaring above.
