Welcome to Cheoah Cottage, a beautifully maintained mountain retreat tucked high above Lake Santeetlah in the peaceful Thunderbird Community. With upscale finishes, cozy gathering spaces, and easy access to the lake and area attractions, this cottage offers the perfect balance of comfort, relaxation, and adventure.
Surrounded by the beauty of the mountains, Cheoah Cottage is ideal for couples, small families, or friends looking for a quiet getaway near Lake Santeetlah, the Tail of the Dragon, and some of Western North Carolina’s most scenic outdoor destinations.

As you enter the cottage, you’ll walk directly into the dining area and kitchen, creating a warm and welcoming first impression. The dining table seats four comfortably and is perfect for meals, morning coffee, or an evening card game after a day exploring the mountains.
The kitchen is thoughtfully equipped with beautiful finishes and stainless steel appliances, including a Viking stove, dishwasher, microwave, and refrigerator/freezer. Whether you're preparing a full dinner or a simple breakfast before heading to the lake, you’ll have everything you need.
Just beyond the kitchen is the cozy living room featuring:

‣ This property is not child or baby-proof.
‣ Only registered guests are allowed overnight.
‣ Do not use the premises for any illegal activity.
‣ No smoking/vaping inside the house. If smoking or vaping outside, guests must be 15 ft away from the entrance and windows and clean up after themselves.
‣ No pets allowed.
BEFORE YOU BOOK:
• A rental agreement is required at the time of booking. It will be sent immediately after you reserve and must be signed within 48 hours to avoid cancellation.
• A $300 security-deposit hold will be placed on the guest’s credit card 2 days before arrival and released within 5 days after departure, pending no damages.
