About this house rental
Casa de Ferreira was once the site where minerals from the mountains surrounding this region were smelted.
There are still signs of this activity in the house, such as the iron cooling sinks and the mineral bowls, which are the result of iron accumulating in these same sinks.
Later, a large communal threshing floor was built, used to thresh the cereals of the entire village. Here, from time to time, ethnographic meetings are still held to remember this not-so-distant era.
Outside the grounds: Parking area/Walking trails
Outside the house: Swimming pool, barbecue, threshing floor, basket, fountains.
Inside the house:
Ground floor: Kitchen, living room, dining room.
First floor: 2 double bedrooms / Shared bathroom / Extra double bedroom.
All the restoration work on Casa da Ferreira has maintained the original features, preserving the historical memory of the place.
The threshing floor, the basket and the large tank are evidence of the various uses given to the house. First as a place for smelting ore and later as a community farmhouse.
On the first floor, the two landlords' bedrooms (Quarto da Eira and Quarto da Ferreira) remain, separated by an elaborate private area. The old servants' quarters also remain, now a large and versatile space that can be used as a bedroom/nursery, office or even a meeting room.
