Travelers from Houston take Interstate 45 to Galveston, then take the free Galveston-Bolivar Ferry on a 20-minute ride to Port Bolivar, where the Bolivar Lighthouse rises 117 feet above sea level. It's then 10 miles to Crystal Beach. For the bridge route, take Highway 124 from Winnie south to Highway 87, turn right, and proceed to Crystal Beach. You'll cross the water via the bridge at Rollover Pass, a favorite fishing spot.
