Welcome to Tamar View Cottage

A beautiful, spacious 2 bedroom holiday cottage overlooking the river Tamar on the Devon/Cornwall border in an area of ​​outstanding natural beauty. Sleeps up to 5, well behaved dogs welcome*. The cottage has a beautiful private terraced garden with fire pit, table and chairs and a bench. Steps up to a lovely viewing platform with further table and chairs. Please note that young children are not allowed in this area without full supervision.

Cycling routes and river walks from the doorstep and just 4 miles from the historic town of Tavistock and a stones throw from Dartmoor.

This property is in a fantastic location for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits and want to enjoy the two wonderful counties of Devon and Cornwall but also to relax and unwind with the most amazing view!

Tavistock is a beautiful market town with a range of shops, restaurants, a theatre, leisure center with pool and a bustling pannier market. There are 3 major supermarkets in the town. Further afield, yet still within easy access, there are many more places of interest including Calstock, Buckland Abbey, Cotehele, Lyford Gorge and the National Marine Aquarium in Plymouth.

This beautiful cottage has been lovingly restored over the past 12 months. The master bedroom has a king size bed, smart TV, plenty of storage, a dressing table with hairdryer, with the second bedroom also spacious with a double and single bed, plenty of wardrobe space and smart tv.

On the ground floor, guests will find a large open-plan space that has everything they will need for a comfortable stay. The lounge area has a smart TV and sofas with dining area. Beyond that the kitchen area is well equipped with an oven/hob, large fridge/freezer, air fryer and built in microwave and dishwasher and washing machine. There is also an ironing board/iron available and outside dog wash area with towels to ensure your 4 legged family member is clean after a muddy walk.

The luxury shower room on the ground floor has a walk in shower with courtesy toiletries, along with a charging point for your electric toothbrushes.

The Front door leads out to a grass terraced area, with steps going down to further terraced area with a seating with table and chairs and a fire pit. Perfect to watch the sun come up or down! The view from this location is stunning overlooking the Tamar River. A perfect place to enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

The property has a private gated drive with ample parking. Regrettably due to steps and terracing the property is unsuitable for people with mobility issues and although fenced, young children must not be left unsupervised in the garden.

We offer plenty of room for bikes and kayaks and they can be securely left within the grounds of the property during your stay. We also offer the opportunity to book dog sitting for the day if hosts are available*.

On arrival, you will be greeted by your hosts no matter what time you arrive. We request that arrival is not before 3pm to ensure that the property is 100% ready for our guests and politely ask that you depart by 10.30am on day of departure. We ask that all key fobs for the gate/outside lights are left ready for the next guests in the property.
