L'Antica Locanda in Montescheno, in the Antrona Valley, is a warm and comfortable inn where you can relax and recharge surrounded by nature, enjoy the view of the mountains turning golden at sunrise, breathe in the fresh air, and leave the hectic pace of the city behind.
The property has been completely restored from a centuries-old tavern that once sold groceries, while preserving the stone walls and wooden floors.
The “Volpe” apartment is perfect for individuals, couples, or families with one child. It offers a comfortable setting and a range of amenities to make your stay unforgettable.
Features of the VOLPE apartment:
- There is a bedroom with a French-style double bed (140x200), a closet, a dresser, and a shoe rack. The bedroom is tastefully furnished, ensuring a restful night’s sleep and a view of the stars thanks to the Velux skylight on the roof.
- The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances, including an oven, microwave, coffee maker, and toaster—perfect for preparing your favorite meals. There’s even a washing machine! The living area is an ideal place to relax, equipped with a TV and board games for fun family moments. There is a L-shaped sofa bed (120x200)
- Private Balcony: Enjoy your morning coffee or an evening aperitif on the balcony, surrounded by the tranquility of the surrounding landscape.
- Free Wi-Fi: Stay connected during your stay thanks to Wi-Fi available throughout the apartment.
- Toys are available for little ones, making this space child-friendly. Upon request, at no extra charge, we can provide a crib with linens.
- From April through September, an outdoor area with a grill, table, benches, umbrella, and lounge chairs is available so you can admire the view, prepare a barbecue, and enjoy the fresh air.
Located in the Antrona Valley, the Antica Locanda is surrounded by stunning scenery and serves as the ideal base for walks and mountain hikes of varying difficulty, as well as trips to the many nearby lakes (Lake Antrona, Campliccioli, Lake dei Cavalli, Lake Mergozzo, Lake Maggiore...), as well as for mountain biking and rock climbing at the Ossola climbing areas. Also nearby are the Premia Thermal Baths and winter ski resorts such as Domobianca and San Domenico. Don’t miss the spectacular Toce Waterfalls, the highest waterfall in Europe.

Household linens (sheets, towels, duvets, blankets, kitchen towels, tablecloths, etc.) are always provided. The property is equipped with essential kitchen supplies (salt, pepper, oil, vinegar), basic personal hygiene products, a hair dryer, and a sewing kit.
