Yus homestay

This accommodation is managed by an extremely friendly host who takes care of what everything you need. You’re welcome connected in the middle of Bukkittingi. Especially considering the price this was the best bargain I could find in whole Bukkittingi. And what is best, you are automatically connected to one of the best tourist guides from the region Renol , with whom I did already several trips. Magnificent flowers and caves beside nature and animals.

This is a great spot foreign visitors, mostly because of the wonderful English-speaking folks you’ll hopefully get to know — Renol (a very kind and friendly human who helps with bookings and loves to show people around) and Muslidar, a retired English teacher, who owns the land and lives adjacent to the Yus Homestay. She’s one of the most lively and joyful people I’ve ever met! I loved hanging out with her and hearing her stories and philosophies of life. Overall, such a lovely and memorable experience. This spot is in a quieter neighborhood than the central part of the city, and I enjoyed wandering and trying the neighborhood food spots (especially Nel Kampiun Keluarga, Lontong Pical Eni, Ampera Putri Bungsu, Lontong Gulai Paku, Nasi Mak Apuk). And it’s a pleasant 20 minute walk to the center of town, about 30 minutes walk down into the canyon.
