Cozy Bay Hotel

Excellent location great hotel staff very welcoming.

We booked this hotel as part of our honeymoon trip & it’s the best decision we made. We were welcomed with big smiles and a flower arrangement on our bed. The manager, Nusrath, goes above and beyond to make sure you’re looked after & have everything you need. He has good relationships with the locals and is able to get you the best prices for safari, surfing, and transport around Arugam Bay. We were able to borrow a motorcycle for a day for a very good price. One morning, we needed some more milk in our coffee, and without question or hesitation, Nusrath jumped on his motorcycle and returned with milk while our coffee was still hot! The room was spotless, the cleanest I’ve seen in Sri Lanka. It seems like there’s been a big investment into furniture as it is all brand new and top quality. There are lots of storage spaces in the room to unpack bags, a fridge, and a powerful air-con unit. The pool area is also very clean with an outdoor shower to wash off sand. The breakfast in the morning was lovely, with options for traditional Sri Lankan breakfast, or more continental styles; each accompanied by freshly made fruit juice & a coffee. Muhajeer is a good chef, and also goes above and beyond in many ways. This hotel is a 5-minute walk to the centre, which is perfect for us. We’re a couple who like to go into the town in the evening, but come back to a relaxing sleep, far enough from the noise (which this is). Overall, it has been a wonderful experience here at Cosy Bay, and we will definitely be returning in the future!

Super close to town. Beautiful new rooms great air con and lovely bathrooms. The host too and the breakfasts were incredible. Great coffee too. Also the tours, safaris, surfing everything they organise for you is really reasonably priced and run by people with a stack of experience. Also the pool is super clean and a lovely addition, we swam in it all the time.

Nothing

Good location a bit outside the main stretch, so it’s quiet but still a short and easy walk to town and the beach. The rooms had everything you need (fridge, cups, electric kettle) and the beds are super comfy. Nice breakfast selection and served every morning by a good-natured, very sweet chef.

The wifi wasn’t always working well, which we probably noticed more since we both had a couple hours of work each day. However, there is a really nice cafe/co-working space about 3 min walk away, so it’s really not a big issue.
